As we all know this is a very cold winter over in the east and the window above my bed, the only window in my bedroom, is poorly sealed. The other day I got fed up and did the saran wrap duct tape thing over the window. It worked well, my room is slightly warmer, but my window now also breathes.
Now when I first heard the window's breath I thought, wait... is that my eye? I don't know about you, but I've listened real close to my eye and the similarities are uncanny.

Ich habe meinen Regenschirm vergessen
have you ever wondered how this
and this
can both have the exact same name?
well the long and short of it is that it rained the other day which made me remember that i forgot my little (short) umbrella that fits in purses and backpacks in the seat pocket of a certain chevy lumina back in pittsburgh. so now i only have the beautiful big (long) umbrella that conall got me last year for my birthday. i just hope it never rains when i need to go somewhere where i can only bring a purse but not a big beautiful umbrella.

Atlantic City
I was in atlantic city this weekend and I was wearing my (in)famous green hat because you know, it was a film shoot and all and you got to wear a hat.
Well, anyway, I experienced what can only be described as a perfect mix between a cat call for me (and meredith) slash for buying/owning my hat. The interesting thing about this was the shouting went on for at least two blocks, long blocks - all the way to 40/40.

*What's a cat call?

Wild Bill and the Pittsburgh Wilds
I've been hearing around town a lot of rumors that the picture of my grandfather and Johnny "the loaf" Fontane are fake. I know, I know, how could I know Johnny? Well I could know him and I do and I hope that this picture demonstrates to the disbelievers that it is real. Here we have... Pappap, another mysterious siren, and FRD (not to be confused by FDR).
Finally in honor of pittsburgh and the music industry... Pittsburgh and ... Yins (Oie, I almost forgot)
Oh! I guess I should also mention a factoid I heard today (and was told to pass on) about a certain Mad Joan Holloway enjoying sex in the derriere the most.

a new crab chip?
great post, (s)! i would like to follow up with some muckraking on a possibly lithuanian man who has mustard, bridges, and streets in new york named after him (planes condiments and automobiles), but right now, we have bigger fish to fry!
yesterday i found this at my rite aid:
my evaluation is: they're ok, which is how i always feel about crab chips.
sam says that Herr's is always too salty. after some quick investigating, we found that this bag did indeed have about 1.5 times as much sodium as a bag of another brand. but a more careful investigation will have to be conducted along the PA turnpike, the only place one can spot and observe that rare specimen, the Utz crab chip.

lithuanians part ii
The other day I was on quite a search for a sealed box of O.B. tampons (all of the ones at Walgreens were opened), one college ruled notebook, and a good trusty deal on glasses lenses when I stumbled upon this hidden Brooklyn Treasure.
Who knew? And it was directly across the street from the church that gave me free lunch on Saturday - they approached me. It was also near my living quarters that were once (g)'s. Fate.
But yay GNYL (greater new york lithuanians)! I am curious about that flag, however.
Also, still no tampons, made a college ruled notebook, and found one in Chinatown.

lithuanians
pat, jess, stephanie, tyler, marty, and i made dumplings a few nights ago (jared was getting antibiotics in times square).
later that same night, i met two german pornographers who were talking about the lithuanian filmmaker jonas mekas. being lithuanian myself, i didn't like how they were pronouncing his name and told them how to pronounce it more correctly.
the next day, noah and i went to the museum and saw a fluxus preview. fluxus is an art movement started and led by another famous lithuanian, jurgis maciunas (who went by "george" because people are bad at pronouncing lithuanian names, as we've seen already).
and all of this now makes me think of this video where both of these famous lithuanians have a dumpling party with a famous pittsburgher, a famous beatle, and a famous japanese-american artiste!

Roman Dino Might
From Dinosaur Heresies ... "like biological ancient romans, [ornate dinosaurs] had supposedly lost control of their adaptive sense and hastened to their doom amid orgies of useless ornamentation."
Oslo from DH "[Coal Age] larval amphibians are fossils of unexcelled loveliness." Beautiful eh? Those may not be from the coal age though - tough to find, just ask Robert Bakker.
From Suetonius' biography of Vespasian "a stray dog picked up a human hand at the cross-roads, which it brought into the room where Vespasian was breakfasting and dropped under the table"
How do they compare? I think the answer is very well. Romans and Dinosaurs both liked sex with the well decorated and were often losing body parts.

Johnny Fontane
Johnny Fontane aka Billy Besly* had a concert at my grandfather's center of living.
Johnny and pappap "used to loaf around together" - a quote from Bill. In the left picture - that's johnny, my pap, a mysterious siren, and a bowl of punch - that's from right to left.
As he serenaded the female audience members I wondered is this what the concerts I've attended seem like to outsiders? They're loving it, I loved some of mine, perhaps they are the same. perhaps.

swollen left sinus
I overdosed on Afrin and x-rays have revealed that my left sinus is swollen and blocked. Doctor recommended more afrin - since I was embarrassed to admit that I overdosed - and stronger antibiotics.
I fear this will happen to me.
